1984...6000, 6010. 6012, 6016, 6020 Original tubs are stamped A and have the short arms. 1.6 rr rims and 1.9 fr rims...

1989....6025 Graphite, 6030 Graphite w bearings. Has wider fr arms, new fr shock tower..

1990....6011 CE Championship Edition has 6 gear, 3 pc wheels---this became the entry level car...

1990-1992: 6035 came as the Team Car with the black chassis (same as gold except color) and Stealth with 1 pc wheels, stamped B. There are also B stamped gold chassis (Stealth CE) but trans holes are countersunk for both.....

6035:

AND... 6036 came with Graphite chassis also called Team Car:

1994: Worlds Car ---top of the line----milled black chassis with Mirage body, Proline tires on flour yellow wheels. Hard anno finish, also
hard annodized shocks, C stamp, front kick up has a v shape...

C chassis has holes for both transmissions but only the Stealth holes are countersunk. C chassis is the milled chassis, B chassis includes the colored powdercoats as well as the 7001 Truck...Stealth came in 92 on the CE...The 1990 CE did not have the Stealth. (There are gold tub CE's w Stealth also).
All cars have the same nose plate.

TQ: there are 4 versions of the TQ...

TQ tires:
TQ76 Pin Spike on TQ #1
TQ70 Pyramid on TQ#2 (wide arm, 4 hole shock tower)
TQ71 Three Rib: graphite, 6 gear CE, early stealth cars
TQ72 4 rib and TQ 73 5 rib are on stealth CE and Team car

Body styles:

Protech 1 (6160) was the original, found with short arm cars 6000, 6010, 6012, 6016

Protech 2 (6173) came with the 6011 as well as Champ Edition and the 6025 and 6030 Graphite Edition

Viper (6121) was on the 6035 and 6036 Team Car

Viper/Protech 2 compare:

Worlds Car 6037 has an RCPS special body (rare) called the Mirage. Has scoop.

Sidewinder (6161) around 1988 for the TQ10. this is also the "box art" chassis on the MIP box sticker for the chain conversion.

Bearings:
--To use tires w 3/16 hole, use B2 CVD w/ 3/8 x 3/16 flanged bearings, possibly rr wheels spacers as needed.
--3 pc wheels or TQ wheels use 3/16 x 5/16 flanged
--fronts use 3/8 x 3/16 unflanged (can use rubber sealed)

how to improve for competition
---best hop ups, choices
from 1988 article:
--boil and dye the parts, this conditions the plastic for better durability and looks cooler
--use a lighter chassis, or cleanly lighten your chassis...graphite options or composite options
--machined gears, higher pitch: there is science behind this
----also proper ratio selection and consider 2wd vs 4wd
--tougher axles like Team Pit Stop with screws instead of clips
--improved sterring bell cranks with ball bearings at least
--heatsink (Litespeed)
--proper shock build, the right oil
--ride height, tire and wheel selection appropriate for your track or race
--motor choice
--battery choice, charged properly and to suit race, matched cells
--radio choice: preferred at the time magnum FPT3PG
--servo: Futaba FP-S135S (is smaller than the most used S32/S132
--bi level wing, buds or tecna
--use loctite

the "non rc10" RC10 (all hop ups)

other options at the time...
--kyo optima line, ultima line
--yokomo yz10
--ayk Radiant, Boxer, Viper/Shuttle
--tamiya frog, hot shot, hot shot 2, sand scorcher, rough rider, vanquich, avante
--schumacher cat, xls, losi JRX2

Hop Ups
--chassis: JG, parma, andys, rpm, sk, hot trick
----shock towers, batt trays, front arms, rear arms, trailing arms, composite craft
